The process of intercultural communication is the intercourse between two cultures.It also stands for communication between national linguistic consciousness of different people.The difference of national language consciousness is one of the reasons of misunderstanding in the process of intercultural communication.Mainly such dissimilarities are caused by culture.Successful intercultural communication is impossible without the knowledge of national mentality and national character of people.The vocabulary of a language expresses its culture in the utmost degree.It contains the basic part of its cultural information.Teaching vocabulary in the process of teaching a foreign language plays a very important part,because lexical skills are an integral part of the following skills:listening,speaking,reading and writing.One of the most important problems in vocabulary teaching is the selection of the material for the lesson.The solution of the problem is in finding out the criteria for the vocabulary selection.In other words the teacher should select the vocabulary,which is really valuable didactically and would help not only teaching communication in Chinese,but also impart knowledge of the Chinese culture.The author of this research considers that the following criteria of vocabulary selection are the most significant for this work:the criterion of culturalogical and country-specific value,the criterion of social significance,the criterion of students' interest consideration,the criterion of students' native culture,the criterion of timeliness,thematic criterion,the criterion of the students' language level,the criterion of functionality and language pragmatics,and the criterion of visualization.The unit which can join together all these criteria is a linguocultural concept.The most significant cultural differences can be observed in their vocabulary systems.Chinese and Russian languages have many dissimilarities.There are but a few notions which coincide completely.The main reason for that is cultural knowledge which is an integral part of every lexical unit.That is why it is of paramount importance to use the knowledge about linguistics worldview and linguocultural concepts in teaching Chinese,because Chinese vocabulary possesses a very rich cultural background.The scientific paradigm in linguistics has changed considerably.It is no longer focused on a language but a language speaker.As a result,linguodidactics and teaching foreign languages should work out new approaches and methods to correspond to the intercultural communication requirements.It is necessary to create such conditions which would engage students into the active participation incorporating their previous experience with a new one to form a different way of thinking and to communicate successfully.This research is conducted within the following branches of linguistics:cultural linguistics,psycholinguistics and cognitive linguistics as well as investigation in the sphere of intercultural communication.The analysis of an integral connection between language,culture and linguistic consciousness is the most important condition to achieve its objective-improvement of teaching Chinese vocabulary to Russian students.
