A Practice Report On Tour Escort Chinese-English Consecutive Interpreting Based On Theory Of Information Equivalence

With more and more foreign tourists coming to China for sightseeing now,the tour escort interpretation has become an important activity,which is also a key point in the interpreting field.Along with further researches,scholars have gradually realized the guiding significance of information equivalence theory in tour escort interpreting.However,most of Chinese and foreign scholars analyze problems by cross-cultural awareness and translation compensation,but they seldom use the information equivalence theory.This thesis is a report on tour escort Chinese-English consecutive interpreting.In terms of real experiences,the problems are summarized by examples of two northeast tours in 2015.Meanwhile,the information equivalence is adopted in the interpreting practice.The case study shows the following findings:Adding subjects and transforming expressions can effectively solve the subject shortage problems;Interpreting implications clearly and adding logical connectives are best.methods to deal with fused sentences;Dividing attentions reasonably and inferring tour introductions logically can help to eliminate non-textual interference.It is hoped that the practical summaries can provide references for professionals in related field.
