A Study Of Diplomatic Interpreting Strategies From The Perspective Of Eco-translatology

Good interpreting capabilities are needed for interpreters as the high seriousness and political nature of diplomatic interpreting.Interpreting strategy,as a kind of strategic method,has certain guiding significance to the improvements of interpreters'capabilities.With a view to the integrity of translational eco-system,Eco-translatology makes new description and explanation on the essence,process,standards,principles,methods and phenomena of translation from the perspective of Eco-translatology study.This thesis aims to make an analysis of the interpretation of Wang Yi's speeches at press conferences from 2014 to 2016 and elucidate the interpreting process with the paradigms of Eco-translatology.In the thesis,it is pointed out that the interpreter should start from "adaptation and selection","multi-dimensional adaptation and selection transformations" and "leaning on the original ecology" in the process of interpretation,and strive to reach equilibrium through weighing translational eco-environment.Among them,"adaptation and selection" is mainly adaptation and selection in textual transplant and ecological equilibrium,including adaptation and selection at lexical,syntactical and rhetorical levels."Multi-dimensional adaptation and selection transformations" are achieved mainly from linguistic,cultural and communicative dimensions.And "leaning on the original ecology" is analyzed from leaning on the ecology of the source language and the target language.Through theoretical analysis of the data collection,it is found that the theoretical paradigms of Eco-translatology conform to the specific practice of diplomatic interpreting and these paradigms can be applied as strategies of future diplomatic interpreting,including:adaptation and selection in textual transplant and ecological equilibrium,multi-dimensional adaptation and selection transformations and leaning on the original ecology.There is certain practical value in the thesis as its taking specific data collection as examples as well as its proposing of interpreting strategies.
