A Study Of C-E Diplomatic Consecutive Interpreting Strategies From The Perspective Of The Contextual Correlates Of Adaptability

As the continuous deepening of foreign exchanges among countries of the world,diplomatic interpreting has been gradually applied widely and has grown in importance.Therefore,it is particularly important to carry out the related studies about diplomatic interpreting as well.This paper aims to study the interpreting strategies of the “two sessions”(the National People's Congress and the Chinese Political Consultative Conference)press conferences of Foreign Minister Wang Yi from 2017 to 2019 from the perspective of the contextual correlates of adaptability under Jef Verschueren's Adaptation Theory,which not only makes the author of this paper well understand and master the interpreting strategies and methods that can be used in the Chinese-English diplomatic consecutive interpreting,but also provides personnel engaging in Chinese-English diplomatic consecutive interpreting and the related researches with theoretical and practical references.Specifically,the paper firstly expounds the purpose and significance of the research as well as the structure of the paper,etc.Secondly,the paper makes an elaboration of researches at home and abroad resorting to the method of literature research.At the same time,the paper elaborates on the basic viewpoints of the Adaptation Theory,the characteristics of diplomatic interpreting and the rationality of the contextual correlates of adaptability applied in diplomatic interpreting.Finally,the paper carries out the specific case analysis for the interpreting linguistic data of the“two sessions” press conferences of Foreign Minister Wang Yi from 2017 to 2019 from the perspective of the contextual correlates of adaptability.Through the research and analysis of the paper,it is found that the contextual correlates of adaptability can be well applied to explore and guide Chinese-English diplomatic consecutive interpreting strategies.In addition,the research in this paper also proves that the application of contextual correlates of adaptability in the process of Chinese-English diplomatic consecutive interpreting has the functions of enriching interpreting strategies,spreading Chinese diplomatic ideas and spreading Chinese culture.
