Drivers Locus of control is proposed to focusing on the whole traffic situation to account for individual differences in perceptions of the contingency between the individuals' action and subsequent outcomes. This paper conducted two studies,in study 1,testing the reliability, validity and applicability of the revised version of Multidimensional Traffic Locus of Control Scale(T-LOC).and examining the relationship to driving behavior in study 2.The results are as following:600 drivers from different cities participated and completed the T-LOC in study 1.After item analysis,we got the final version of T-LOC.T-LOC consisted of 16 items, which Was divided into 4 factors, namely self(equivalent to internal),other drivers,vehicle/environment and fate(together equivalent to external).indicating that it had good construct validity.Pearson correlations between the factors and the The total reliability of the revised mental Traffic Locus of control scale is 0.852,and the internal consistency coefficients of the four factors are 0.825?0.897.The correlation coefficients of the four factors and the total score of the scale were 0.581?0.851 and p<0.01,indicating that the scale had good content validity. Therefore, both the reliability and validity of T-LOC met the criteria of psychometrics. In study 2,300 drivers completed the T-LOC and DBQ.at the same time,Ask the subjects to fill in basic demographic information including age, gender, education level and so on.Firstly,Male drivers tend to attribute the cause of the accident to the self, the female driver is more likely to attribute the cause of the accident to other drivers, and when the individual's higher education level,The more inclined to attribute the responsibility of the accident to other drivers.Secondly,“Vehicle and Environment" scores are negatively related to the number of violations and positively related to errors.Thirdly," self" and "fate" scores are positively related to the the various dimensions of driving behavior. To sam up,the T-LOC Can be used as a tool to assess Chinese drivers' locus of control in the future researches.
