A Report On C-E Translation Of Excerpts From The 47-day Against Japanese Aggression In The City Ofhengyang

The year of 2017 is the 80 th anniversary of overall outbreak of the Chinese people's war of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and72 th anniversary of victory of the Chinese people's war of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.A series of grand Commemorative activities will have been held.When we commemorate martyrs,we descendants also need to be cautious about the history,treasuring the present peaceful life which is hard to earn.Looking back into the history that when Japanese had launched a ferocious battle against Hengyang in1944,the GMT 10 th corp army started a heroic defense of Hengyang for47 days,carving a period of glorious history in Chinese people's war of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.However,this heroic and glorious history has not been known to the majority.The thesis is going to do study on the translation of Hengyang battle in 1944,which is intended to attract more people to focus on the history of Hengyang in 1944.Promoting the communication of the Chinese people's war of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression internationally will deepen understanding of the unknown history during the Chinese people's war of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.In addition,the study of Hengyang battle will upgrade its historical influence as a famous historical city.Besides,a study on historical text translation will provide valuable reference to the translation of historical text in the future.The writer selected part of chapters of the 47-day Bloody Fighting Against Japanese Aggression in the city of Hengyang as translation materials.The thesis was divided into four parts,including task description,process description,case analysis and summary or conclusion,with cases studies analyzing the focal and difficult points in the translating from the Lexical level and Syntactic level,discussing the language and culture differences between the Western and Chinese and translation methods and techniques in the translation of historical text.It told us the task background,translating process,key and difficult points in the translating process and how to solve problems in the process,as well as unsolved problems and deficiencies in translation.After having finished the translation,the writer did some researches on historical text and concluded translating gains and losses,hoping it would provide some valuable references for those who will translate this kind of text in the future.
