Research On Ethical Issues In Balance Of Interests

The development of genetically modified(gm)food has brought enormous economic benefits to mankind,at the same time,the safety of gm food and g m crops' impact on the ecological problems increasingly arouses people's concern.For genetically modified foods,there are two opinions-the support group and the oosition group.The differences between the two groups are mainly concentrated in two aspects:first,whether the gm food is really safe and reliable;second,whether the gm organism is harm to the ecosystem.It is still a controversial issue whether the GM food is harmful to human beings and ecology.No conclusion about the dispute in this paper,but the ethical controversy triggered by the controversy is a fact.Therefore,it needs to play the normative role of ethics of science and technology(EST).Under the norms of EST,from the perspective of interests and truth,we can make the development of GM foods accord with the value orientation of human free and comprehensive development.The support group believes that the development of GM food brings lots of value to men,and creates infinite possibilities for the free development of human beings in the future.Thus,the third chapter of this paper will make an analysis of their main points from 2 aspects——solving problems and bringing benefits,and expound the ethical issues of GM foods clearly.The opposition group believes that GM food itself is toxic and anaphylactic,as well as the transgenic technology is not mature enough,the experimental time is short.All these may have negative effects on the ecological.Thus,the fourth chapter will analyse their main points from controversy and criticism on the value of GM food and show the ethical controversy about GM food.The fifth chapter will summarize the views of the two groups,as well as explore the essence they insist on in the balance of interests.Last,from the perspective of science and technology ethics,the development of GM food is analyzed and summarized in general.
