| This translation report is based on the translation of Chapter Four excerpted from the book Human Rights in World History.This chapter introduces the development process of human rights in the period of 19 th century and the interwar decades.This translation practice uses literal translation as a chief method and liberal translation as a secondary one and the combination of the two.This report mainly consists of four sections namely the task description,translation process description,case analyses,and conclusion.In the first section,the author briefly introduces the source,the book and its writer.In the second part,the author introduces the process of preparation,revision and finalization of the draft.Case study is the core of this report,which respectively analyzes some typical example sentences in the original text from the perspective of vocabulary,syntax and text according to learned translation skills.In the last part,the author makes comments on the translation practice.All in all,the translator learned a lot during the translation process.The experience not only combined the translation theories that were studied with practices,improving the translator’s ability,but also enabled her realize the importance of translator’s responsibility and quality during translation. |
