This report is based on the translation of an informative text of the second part in Building Global Relations Through Debate written by Robert Trapp(USA),which introduces the forms of competition system and the debate framework in the British Parliamentary debate. The purpose of this study is to explore the translation strategies of terms by translating Building Global Relations Through Debate, the official textbook of "FLTRP Cup" National English Debating Contest. Then, the standardization, unity and consistency of the full text and the special terms can be guaranteed in the whole translation process with the exploitation of corresponding translation methods and strategies such as the combination of literal translation and liberal translation as well as the complementary application of domestication and foreignization, together with the help of machine-aided translation software Memo Q and corpus software AntConc.Through the translation practice,on the one hand, the author discusses and summarizes some translation skills and strategies in this book, then collects and classifies terms and general words for specific purposes in the process of translation in order that they can provide more help for the further translation of informative texts to a certain extent. On the other hand,by means of the translation of informative texts, rules and guidelines can be provided for the future debate in the country so that readers can have a better understanding of Worlds-Style Debate.
