Analysis Of The Chinese-Korean Mistranslations In The Commentaries Of Jinsha Museum In Sichuan Province

With the more frequent exchanges between China and Korea,a growing number of people visit each other for the purpose of travel.At present,China is one of the most frequently visited countries for Korean tourists.Moreover,Sichuan province has rich tourism resources,among which Jinsha Site Museum is the most representative cultural heritage in the art history of Sichuan region.For Korean tourists who visit China,Korean commentaries about Jinsha Site are provided by the museum.However,while visiting,tourists often find many mistranslated Korean commentaries,which prevent the Korean tourists from having an accurate understanding of the history,culture and significance of the scenic spot.Therefore,in order to make the Korean tourists have a right understanding of Jinsha Site's history and significance,it is necessary to correct the mistakes in the Korean commentaries of Jinsha Rite.This thesis,taking the example of the commentaries in Sichuan's Jinsha Museum,will list the commonest examples of mistranslated Korean commentaries.The analysis of the examples is the main concern,and their corrected versions will be put forward.This thesis is divided into six parts:Introduction: This part mainly introduces the research purpose,present situation,object and method of the thesis.Chapter one: Analysis of the lexical mistranslations in Jinsha Site's commentaries.Lexical mistranslations include mistranslations of Chinese characters and phrases,uses of wrongly written characters,and mistakes in writing.Chapter two: Analysis of grammatical mistranslations in Jinsha Site's commentaries.Grammatical mistranslations include the wrong uses of auxiliary words,suffixes,passive words and adverbials,and the problems of sentence structures and word order.Chapter three: Other mistakes in Jinsha Site's commentaries,including the omissions or additions of the original texts,and the problems of violating Chinese norms.Chapter four: Examples of the corrections of the mistranslated Jinsha Site's commentaries.ConclusionThis thesis makes an analysis of the Korean mistranslations and talks about their reasons in the first,second and third chapters,and examples of corrections are made in chapter four.Through this research,the author has realized the necessity of scenic spots' introductions in foreign languages and the importance of the accuracy of their translations.
