This is a translation project report on Digital Transformation Playbook: Rethink Your Business for the Digital Age(Chapter 1-2),which is wrote by David L.Rogers and published by Columbia University Press in 2016.The ST,chapter one introduces the five domains of digital transformation: customers,competition,date,innovation and value.And it briefly depicts the appropriate five strategic themes.Chapter two focuses on the first strategic theme in the domain of customers,which is “Harness Customer Networks”.Chapter three focuses on “Build platforms,not just products”,the second strategic theme in the domain of competition.Under the guidance of skopostheory,the report attempts to solve the translation difficulty in skillfully translating lots of foreign cases without background introduction by applying four techniques: zero-translation,annotation,amplification and conversion.The translation project comprises four chapters.Chapter One introduces the translation project,including background,purpose,significance and structure of the translation project.Chapter Two presents skopostheory,the theoretical cornerstone of the report,including its development,main concepts and application in translation process;then analyzes the ST through its functional characteristic and stylistic features.Chapter Three makes prediction of the translation difficulty by combining with purpose of the translation project and the main features of the ST.Under the guidance of skopostheory,the translator determines to apply five translation techniques to solve the translation difficulty,including zero-translation,annotation,amplification and conversion.Chapter Four makes a summary and distills experience to be learned.
