A Report On The Translation Of The Status Of The Translation Profession In The European Union (Chapter 5)

The translation report is based on the chapter five,from the book The Status of the Translation Profession in the European Union.This book thoroughly elaborates the historical track and the development law of the translation profession in the European Union.And chapter five is about the Economic Modeling.It describes the development of translation profession from the perspective of the economic aspect.Then,researchers acquired the information which includes the income of the translators and the factors that affect the translators’ income.Then it describes the income of the translators by mathematic equations and diagrams.Translation profession in China is still developing and lots of problems exist.Therefore,there is a long way to go before it becomes a mature field.Meanwhile,the translation report will do great help to translators in our nation to know more about the translation market in European Union and acquire some useful experience to better solve the problems that exist in our nation’s translation market.The author of the translation report mainly focuses on the status of translation in the European Union based on the fifth chapter economic modeling and absorbs the advantages and then works out solutions for the problems in China’s translation market.There are four parts which make up the translation report.The first chapter is about the background and the aim of the translation project.The introduction of the source text,which includes the authors of the source text itself and the analysis of the genre of the source text,makes up the second part.The third chapter narrates the usage of the translation theory and the difficulties in the process of the translation report and the methods to solve the problems.At last,the fourth chapter is the conclusion of the translation report,which describes the gains and shortcomings in the process.The source text is academic text of social science,which contains various principles and it is complex.Therefore,the author of the report adopts the functional equivalence and mainly uses the literal translation with annotation,division and conversion to solve the problems in the process of translation.
