A Bite of China is a food documentary program which is broadcasted by CCTV,and its main content is food from all over China.The author entrusted by the general manager of Langfang Aibo Translation Service Co.,LTD.,in the summer of 2015(July and August)the author translated the caption of A Bite of China from Chinese into English and did the proofreading.The manuscript is preparing for the book in the form of graphic brochures.The company and I want the traditional Chinese cuisine and culture in a more precise and authentic English translation version,showing to people at home and abroad.The translation practice report includes five parts.The first part mainly introduces the Chinese background information of A Bite of China and its translation purpose.The second part of the compaction is the process of translation,including translation of preparation,the understanding of the characteristics of subtitles and translation evaluation.The third part is a detailed description of relevance theory,including from the understanding of the relevance theory to the significance of subtitle translation Oand from translation principles to the point.In the process,the author also met the related problems and difficulties.Theory is closely related to the practice.In the fourth part of the report,the author lists cases to analyze a series of translation strategies in dealing with some dish names,proper nouns,and the use of long sentence,and combined with the guidance of Relevance Theory.Finally,in the process of translation and research,the author summarizes the experiences and lessons then drew important conclusions.
