A Report On The Subtitle Translation Of The Movie Twilight Sagal:Twilight

The objective of the subtitle translation is to convey some information to the audience effectively.In the progress of world integration,English movies play the significant role in communication through different countries.As more and more English movies are spread to China,the demand of subtitle translation of English movies becoming more and more important.However,as far as the author concerned,the standard of title translation is far from excellent,which influenced the culture spreading in the English movies.Therefore,it is very hard to achieve goal of cross-cultural communication.The subtitle has its unique characteristics.Firstly,it is transitory,as the picture changes quickly,the actor's mouth should be consistent with his voice.Secondly,the subtitle is public,the translator should make the Chinese language be suit for the most people and consider their ability of adopting and understanding,so the Chinese language should be simple and popular.To sum up,the translator should spread the information to Chinese audience through the translated text,and then achieve his goal.This research report takes the skopos theory to translate the subtitle of the movie Twilight Sagal:Twilight.Firstly,this report introduces the purpose and meaning of the research.Then it combines the theory and cases to analysis,and explores the relevant translation strategies and methods.At last,this paper summarizes the problems,methods and experience during the translation process.The author hopes that through this experience and this report,it will make some contribution to the field of subtitle translation,and the author hopes that there will be more and more scholars join into this field.
