A Translation Report For Chapter 5 Of Intellectual Property Law

This translation report is based on the translation of Trade Mark,Chapter 5 of Intellectual Property Law(4th edition).Being a core textbook of British law schools,Intellectual Property Law has analyzed both principles and cases,enjoying a great reputation.Translating this book provides not only an introduction to the history and status quo of intellectual property law in Europe,but also a reference for the theoretical research and development of intellectual property law in China.During the translation,the author finds that it is difficult to translate the long sentences and names of companies and brands referred to in case names.Therefore,this report aims at analyzing the methods used in translating names of companies and brands referred to in the case names and long sentences in the legal text,hoping to provide a reference for other translators who are engaged in English-Chinese translation of legal texts.
