On Translation Of Long Sentences In Legal Texts

This thesis is based on translation of preface,introduction and the first chapter in Study on the Rights of Persons Belonging to Ethnic,Religious and Linguistic Minorities by Francesco Capotorti.Guided by the translation principles of informative texts,this thesis offers an analysis of translation rules of informative legal texts,including accuracy,rigidity and coherence.With a focus on translating long English sentences,a detailed discussion of specific translation skills is provided,including translation with syntactic linearity,reversal,division as well as their combination.
