Multi-modal teaching refers the teachers make full use of multi-modal symbols to mobilize students to study.Multi-modal teaching is based on the theory of multi-modal discourse analysis.Multi-modal discourse analysis theory is a new theory,which is developed on the basis of the system functional linguistics.Multi-modal teaching has many sensory,multi-channel,multi-dimensional interaction and interesting characteristics.It emphasizes student-centered,highlight the student's dominant position and creat a multi-modal symbol and relaxing classroom environment.Traditional listening teaching has adopted a single teaching mode for a long time,and it causes the boring listening class,which directly affects the students' listening level.However,the multi-modal teaching advocating multi-modal resources in teaching meets the students' needs.It is feasible and positive to apply multi-modal teaching in listening class.Its flexible teaching methods and interesting teaching content help to reduce the difficulty of listening comprehension.At the same time,it not only enhances students' confidence,mobilizes students to learn interestingly and improves students' listening level,but also can cultivate students' multiple reading ability and cooperation awareness to promote the comprehensive development of students.The Chinese listening class follows the principles of appropriateness,complementarity and economy and makes reasonable use of modal symbols to improve students' listening level and teaching effect.The research of multimodal teaching is a short time,and it is mainly used in English teaching,but rarely used in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.In order to make better use of multi-modal teaching in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,it is necessary for the teachers to strengthen their understanding of multi-modal teaching,and to further study and promote it.
