In order to introduce advanced wind power technology from developed countries like the United States, relative materials in English need to be translated into Chinese for researching and studying, under the circumstance that wind energy has aroused the world attention. However,in the translation process, the professionalism and complexity of materials may bring difficulties to translators. After analyzing Wind Vision: A New Era for Wind Power in the United States(published by the U.S.Department of Energy on March,2015),the document involved in this report,it is known that texts related to wind power technology are professional and complex, but parallel texts of such materials are rich. Thus,in the process of the translation practice and analysis of case study in the report, the translator sets the translation Skopos Theory as the general guiding ideology, and employed many kinds of parallel texts in the specific translation practice process on both lexical and syntactic level,in order to translate source text properly and make the translation not only highly re-present the language style and meanings of source text, but also in accordance with the target language habits. In this translation process,it is testified that parallel texts are practical in translating technological and professional materials.Meanwhile,as it is a group translation practice, the author has grasped abilities and skills in group translation. This report is divided into four parts.Chapter one expresses the background and significance of the translation task.Chapter two shows the translation process, including previous analysis and preparation, task division and translation schedule etc.In chapter three, specific analyses are made about key words and sentences by using Skopos Theory and Parallel Text.Chapter four is the conclusion. It is not only about professional qualities of translators in group translation, but also including lessons,as well as problems to be solved.
