| This thesis explores the character of Hu Lancheng from the perspective of psychological biography,and discusses its multi-causes.First,the study collects materials with Elms’ nine-step methods to explore the paradox of Hu’s personality in four pairs including rebels and rules,truthfulness and hypocrisy,affection and ruthlessness,indifference and utilitarianism,Revealing their innate conflicts as a reflection of his chaotic attitude for life.Secondly,this study applies causal model and coherent-whole model to understand the formation of Hu’s personality by analyzing his family environment,parent-child relationship,opera as a cultural background,pluralism,social issues,his fleeing experience,and especially his childhood and adulthood trauma,hence giving an objective and comprehensive retelling of Hu’s story. |
