As state-to-state exchanges boom,a growing number of Chinese businesses are going global.Serving as a bridge for communication between businesses in China and the rest of the world, contract plays a significant role as it specifies details of the agreement, obligations and responsibilities of two parties. All of progress made in a transaction is built on the signing of contract. To this end, translators shall take their work seriously.Any delivery of ambiguous information is not allowed. To this end,the writer makes reference to some materials concerning contract translation to get access to methods and skills of contract translation and finds proper translation of terminologies in the original text by appreciation of translations of other contracts. The writer begins to translate Service Agreement after getting the general idea of the contract and core point of each clause. This thesis is a practical report on contract translation under the guidance of Skopos Theory.Keeping in mind the skopos rule, the coherence rule and the fidelity rule specified in Skopos Theory, the writer makes analysis of some translation cases from Service Agreement to share translation skills and experiences from the perspective of the choice of words and syntactical structure. The section of choice of words falls into four categories: synonym, archaic words, modal verbs, juxtaposition of synonym and the use of nominalization. The section of syntactical structure focuses on three points: complex sentence, the sentence of pre-existing cause of negative word and the sentence of parallel structure. In the last section, the writer is aimed at summarizing translation skills in the hope that these can serve as a resource of inspiration to give other translators a leg up.
