The source text of the report is the overview of module 12 of ICT in Agriculture published on the official website of the World Bank Group as an e-sourcebook. This book involves a partnership of the infoDev, the Agriculture and Rural Development Department of the World Bank Group, and some experts from various organizations and universities.The source text mainly introduces what is traceability in the sector of food science and ICT and how to guarantee food safety in developing countries through ICT-aided traceability system.In accordance with Skopos rule, fidelity rule and coherence rule of the Skopos theory, this report discusses corresponding remedies to deal with the difficulties in translating informative text. In line with the fidelity rule and coherence rule, two translating techniques are mainly discussed to deal with proper nouns, namely adopting existing translation and annotating while inversion and conversion are employed to solve long sentence translating. As a result, the TT is more adaptable to the TT language customs and more understandable and acceptable to its receivers while such characteristics as objectivity, accuracy, conciseness and logicality of scientific and technical text are retained.
