In teaching Chinese as a foreign language(TCFL),vocabulary teaching occupies very important position.In the teaching material of TCFL,the Word-based Teaching Method is always adopted for lexical processing,where the text is accompanied by a list of new words which can be translated directly.Clearly,the Word-based Teaching Method has a great role in vocabulary teaching,but there are also some problems,especially in the Chinese level and advanced stage of Chinese vocabulary teaching,the slow vocabulary extension of students and superficial understanding of words can lead to biased errors easily,while Morpheme Teaching Method can well make up for the inadequacy of the Word-based Teaching Method and enable students to master vocabulary more accurately.In this paper,starting from the previous studies,we summarize the advantages and disadvantages of several vocabulary teaching methods and expounds the basis and function of the implement of the Morpheme Teaching Method.According to the analysis of the lexical errors in the Chinese teaching of the Mongolia students and the questionnaires,we put forward the method of the application of the Morpheme Teaching Method to the actual Chinese teaching,and make the relevant teaching design of the Morpheme Teaching.Through the research and teaching practice,this article puts forward that when learning most words,the explanation and analysis of word formation and morpheme meaning,and the appropriate teaching of word-formation method of the compound words,can help students better understand the meaning of morpheme and words and cultivate students' ability of self-study and word-enlarge;According to the characteristics of the structural parts and ideogram of Chinese characters,teachers can help students understand and remember the new words;Meanwhile teachers can also use the original teaching materials to help students collate the learned vocabulary and master Chinese vocabulary systematically.Morpheme teaching method,as an effective method of vocabulary teaching in TCFL,can help students to memorize vocabulary.But we should also see that Morpheme Teaching Method is not universal such that we should determine what kind of teaching methods flexibly according to the situation of the students or teaching content,at the same time,combine the morpheme teaching method and others to meet the learning needs of students and make the vocabulary teaching better.
