With the rise of "Chinese hot", teaching Chinese as a foreign language has received thepervasive attention of people domestic and overseas. Vocabulary teaching is the key of Chineseteaching and it is also the foundation of teaching Chinese as a foreign language which has beenvalued by the experts and scholars and is a hot spot of teaching. But large number and lowrecurrence rate of the vocabulary in the teaching material has always been a difficult point inteaching Chinese as a foreign language. Traditional vocabulary teaching method use the wholeword for teaching, which has the deficiency in the teaching process while morpheme teachinguse a morpheme for teaching.Using morpheme as the basic of sentence and word can help thestudents learn better and make up for the traditional vocabulary teaching in some degrees. Atpresent, the study about morpheme only focused on morpheme itself or simply from themorpheme teaching theory but the combination of teaching and textbook morpheme are rare.Based on the research of predecessors, this paper researched the morpheme of the newwords in the table of authoritative primary comprehensive textbook "New Practical ChineseReader". This research is mainly divided into five parts: First, the introduction part, clarified thereason of this topic, expound the morpheme teaching basis from the perspective of linguisticsand psychology and concluded the morpheme teaching research situation and significance;Second, the study of morphemes in the textbooks, including the determination and analysis ofmorphemes and classification of morphemes analysis combining with the teaching material ofnew words in the table; Third, the morpheme meaning of teaching material research, can bedivided into the single morpheme and complicated words according to the meanings morphemes,and combined with the example of teaching in the analysis, and concluded the relationshipbetween summarize and morpheme meaning; Four, based on the study of the new words in thetable of morphemes, When "New Practical Chinese Reader" is used in vocabulary teaching,which can reflect the identity of morpheme teaching in some degree, but it is still focused on traditional vocabulary teaching methods. So I evaluate the book "New Practical Chinese Reader"and offer some suggestions on how to develop morpheme teaching, hoping to provide certainreference to primary vocabulary teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Fifth, Lesson8of thetextbook is taken as an example to make the instructional design. The essay highlightsmorpheme teaching with a deep teaching reflection.The advantages of morpheme teaching will be proved in the essay, in specific, they willfavor the development of vocabulary teaching. However, it will be researched that how to makefull use of morpheme for vocabulary teaching in the future.
