Japan's Agricultural Scientific Research Activity And Agricultural Control In Northeast

In 1906,Japanese Imperialism established the South Manchuria Railway Company(the SMR,for short).In order to strengthen Japan's agricultural colonial rule in Northeast China,the SMR set up a group of agricultural scientific research institutions.After 1932,for the purpose of being the grain base of Japan,the Puppet Manchuria Regime also set up a batch of agricultural experiment farms.With the help of these experiment farms,Japan plundered more agricultural interests.After the transfer of the executive power of the land attached to the SMR from the SMR to the Puppet Manchukuo in 1938 and the restructure of experiment farms in 1941,the system of agricultural experiment farms changed very much.From 1906-1945,these experiment had conducted overall and fruitful agricultural scientific researches.It was on the farms that there were splendid achievements.However,limited by natural and social factors,the generalization of these achievements was unsuccessful,except for especial achievements.The main reason of the failure lies in Japan's carrying out agricultural colonial rule in Northeast China.To meet the more and more demand of agricultural resources,the Puppet Manchuria Regime insisted on enforcing the agricultural control policy.The Puppet Manchukuo increased agricultural production by expanding arable land sharply and plundered agricultural resources by struggling to implement “the Sale of Grain” and “the Ration of Grain” coercively.Based on plentiful data and historical documents,adopting historical and empirical analysis,this thesis introduces the history of agricultural experiment farms,demonstrates the defeat of Japan's agricultural improvement in Northeast China,and exposes the essence of Japanese Imperialism implementing agricultural colonial rule.Chapter 1st presents the change of agricultural experiment farms from 1906 to 1945.There were different characteristics about experiment farms between the SMR period and the Puppet Manchukuo period.There were typical and salient features among experiment farms.Chapter 2nd elaborates agricultural scientific research activity and its generalization,including breed improvement,agricultural chemistry,agricultural technique and agricultural implements etc.This chapter discusses the reasons of defeat of generalizing.Chapter 3rd accuses Japan of plundering agricultural resources from Northeast China.With the tenser and tenser war situation faced by Japan,the Puppet Manchukuo was always strengthening the agricultural control.
