Research On The Agricultural Testing Field Of Hebei Province From 1928 To 1937

Since the introduction of modern western agricultural techniques,China has emerged many agricultural experiment stations, which took agricultural scientific experiments and promotion of agricultural products as their main work. When Nanking National Government was set up, the construction of agriculture was put on agenda. Under the super vision of the Agriculture and Mine Office of Hebei province, there formed three indepe ndent segments responsible for agricultural management, agricultural education and the improvement and promotion of agriculture respectively. With the establishment of provincial and county-level agricultural experimental stations, all of the stations began to select pilots to conduct agricultural experiments with their particular emphases, according to the local conditions,such as climate and soil types. In addition, they started to pick out superior species to do promotion, especially the new species, in which the American cott on was a good example. Limited as their achievements were, these activities indeed accelerated the transition of Hebei province from traditional experience-bases agriculture to modern experimental agriculture.This thesis makes a detail research and summary on the establishment of main agricultural experiment systems in Hebei Province since from 1928 to 1937. With the clue of various activities held at agricultural test site, this thesis makes investigation about the Hebei Province's agricultural experiments'influence on local agriculture and its development.
