A video game is a game with a certain story that can be operated and interacted with an audio-visual device as a medium.Video games began from the 1970 s and last to today's society,because it brings people to relax and stimulate,so more and more people love it.Especially in the recent ten years,with the progression of science and technology,the popularity of portable devices,video games has more and more came into people's lives,people's demand for video games and dependence is also deepening.With the increasing attetion on video games,the number of related research has been growing,and a large number of studies have shown that video games have had a tremendous impact on many aspects of the individual,as research has shown that video games can affect people's emotions and increase violence tend,occupation of individual cognitive resources,the ability to focus on the distribution of the individual and so have an impact.In recent years,the second language has always been an important part of curriculum teaching and practical application.In the increasingly changes of today's society,second language,especially English,has become more and more important.And vocabulary in the language play a fundamental role,so the study of the vocabulary recognition of the second language has a crucial position.The existing second language research also shows that to successfully identify the second language vocabulary,need to take up a lot of cognitive resources to suppress the affect come from the first language vocabulary.With the cognitive source occupanied by the recognition of second language vocabulary,video game may play a negative role in individual L2 vocabulary recognition.But at the same time moderate video games can enhance the individual's spatial perception,visual attention,attention span,attention distribution and so on the basic cognitive function of the role of some high-level cognitive ability will also be affected,such as to enhance the problem,Behavioral inhibition and other cognitive functions,and therefore may also be unskilled second language vocabulary recognition to produce a positive role in promoting.In addition,it has been shown that the lexical features of the lexical vocabulary may affect the vocabulary recognition.In addition,the Chinese lexical features corresponding to the lexical vocabulary will also affect the vocabulary recognition of the second language.In order to control this variable,corresponding to the Chinese vocabulary characteristics as a control factor.Therefore,the material used in previous studies is similar to the character pattern similar,similar to the pronunciation,the word translation similar to the other word traslation,and the word translation's pronunciation in similar to the other word translation's pronunciation.Research indicates:1.Compared with the slow pace of video games,the subjects in the fast pace video game have a highter accuracy and shorter reaction time;2.Whether the word is related to semantics has no significant effect on the second language vocabulary recognition;3.There are no differences in the accuracy between the four conditions of the different material,but the reaction time in the condition of similar in the word transition's shape and pronounciation is shorter than other two conditions.
