This is a translation project report on Crisis Communication in a Digital World written by Mark Sheehan published by Cambridge University Press in April,2015.No Chinese version has ever been in print so far.The whole book comprises 12 chapters with 65,000 words,and its third chapter(approximately 7,000 words)is selected as the source text of this translation project.This chapter mainly concerns itself about how reputation crisis influences an enterprise,an industry and even an original country and demonstrates the long-lasting nature of crisis damage and the difficulty of rebuilding stakeholder relationshipsSkopos Theory is adopted to guide the translation,which offers a proper guidance to the application of translation techniques for translation difficulties.This report is composed of five parts.The first part makes a brief introduction to background,objectives and significance,and structure of this project.The second part is a brief account of the source text.The third part deals with translation difficulties and preparations for those translation difficulties.The fourth part makes an analysis of the application of translation techniques with several typical examples.The fifth part concludes lessons gained and unsolved problems in this translation project. |
