As China further engaging into the cultural acitivities aglobe,Chinese-foregin language translation and interpretation(English in particular)is becoming incresingly significant in China's communication with the outside world.A better,precise translation and intrepretation is showing greater significance as a result.This gives birth to the need for more professional interpreters.Considering that short-term memory(STM)plays a crucial role in consecutive interpreting hereby determines the quality of rendering either directly or indirectly,it is natural that the studies on STM in CI have been mushrooming in the recent years.Consequently,there is a call for theoretical development and reference providance for CI tranining by adding more into the previous researches.The paper selectes two major thinking approaches in art practices,the logic reasoning and the imaginal thinking as topics to discuss when it is on artistc thinking.Based on this discussion,the paper sets out to prove the link between artistic thinking and STM in CI.The thesis conducts its studies by comparision.The focus is on the capacity and duration of STM,the influences of application of logic reasoning,imaginal thinking on STM duraion,chunk formation and STM capacity.Meanwhile,the study on logic,imaginal thinking is to be covered likewise.Containers-Channels model will thereby be proposed to prove the existence of the link.
