This report is based on a simulated consecutive interpreting task,in which the author selected an academic lecture on tourism held by Chongqing Normal University on May 31 st,2016 as the material for practice.Besides highly professional attainment and literary accomplishment,the speaker was skilled in interesting speaking style as well as good interaction with audience,but with slight dialect accent and weak logic.The content of the lecture was based on the theory of tourism,combined with the speaker's travel experience,covering a wealth of knowledge and full of challenge.This report mainly adopted qualitative research method,descriptive method and analytical method.Based on Interpretive Theory and Daniel Gile's interpreting theory,the author made analysis on her interpreting process and divided case analysis into two aspects featuring the text and interpreting skills.Chongqing dialects,ancient poetry and speaking style were the main objects on textural analysis while short-term memory and dealing with psychological pressure as well as public speaking skills were mainly discussed in the aspects of interpreting skills.These specific challenges were analyzed through cases.With related theories,the author got some corresponding strategies as solutions.In conclusion,the author organized the feedback from the audience,and proposed suggestions as follow: First,interpretation practice should be combined with related theories in order to achieve better interpreting reflections.Second,different interpreting strategies can be used to cope with different interpreting challenges such as comprehension and re-expression.Third,interpreter should not only enhance the skills in psychological adjustment but also public speaking.With the analysis and reflections,this report can make contribution to improving the author's interpreting ability as well as providing experience for other interpreting learners and researchers.
