Sight-singing and ear training is the fundamental course of music major education,which has an important influence on the study of other musical professional courses.Moreover,it can also help expanding musical vision and improving comprehensive abilities.And in this system,sight-singing mainly aims at training the students’ precise ability of reading score and improving their musical quality.In our country,for a long time,solfeggio teaching is mainly based on compositions that have tonality.And the teaching materials mostly contain the selected works.However,there is a serious lack of domestic original works which contain traditional and modern expressions.Nowadays,the development of music has entered a new stage with multiple genres and techniques,deriving polytonality,pantonality,free atonality,serial music and many other types of music from tonal music.Meanwhile,traditional musical elements such as scale,chord,harmony and rhythm have been given more extensive meanings.For those students who need to know more about all kinds of musical works,traditional compositions in the classes cannot meet their need of comprehending the modern connotation of multifarious musical phenomenons.Therefore,there is urgent need for us to enrich the original teaching materials and add the latest elements into those books.For teachers,they are supposed to take the duty to help students deeply understand diverse musical types and phenomenons through the expansion of the teaching system.This measure can also help students set up a strong auditory basis to master more music images.Nevertheless,many students could find it difficult for them to adapt to the transitory stage from traditional works to the compositions created by modern composition techniques.In this aspect,to moderate this unsteady stage,sight-singing teaching are supposed to carry out with teaching materials which contain both traditional and modern composition techniques."20 etudes for advanced monophonic solfeggio" is such a professional sight-singing book with piano accompaniment,compiled by professor Wang Shi in solfggio and ear training research office of Central Conservatory of Music.The book was published by Central Conservatory of Music Press in June,2011.The book is one of the academic research achievements of 211 project,and it’s valuable for academic and professional research.This edition has some characteristics,that is to say,the 20 compositions are arranged by traditional — — modern — —traditional musical style,mixed together with knowledge points of sight-singing,instead of according to the order of chapters.In this book,each track is completed with normative piano accompaniment,and some of them have preludes and epilogues.These features are extremely significant for musical integrity,the practice of learners’ abilities of playing,singing and hearing.In a word,it’s such a professional and practical book with 20 different cantos which have respective emphasis and unique melodies.This article aims at analyzing and discussing the features of creative techniques and inherent rules of the book "20 etudes for advanced monophonic solfeggio " from the perspective of solfeggio,and carrying out the researches which can be practiced into teaching activities.In this way,other counterparts who work on solfeggio teaching career can understand the book better and popularize it into the professional solfeggio teaching activities,with positive significance.In addition,the article also aims at drawing the attention of more music researchers and teachers major in solfeggio so that there can be more positive reference in the research and teaching of solfeggio.
