Based on documentary "National Geographic-JiuZhaigou Valley and Shangri-La",this report is an analytical summary on the author's interpreting practice of this documentary.Under the guiding principle of Skopos Theory,the author has conducted this task based on the English subtitles being translated into Chinese.During the process of this task,the research method of case study is employed and several questions that have occurred are selected as examples for analysis and classification.In the meantime the interpreting methods are summarized,for instance,simplicity translation,direct translation,Re-adjustment translation and so on.After careful case studies,the author also sums up his work experiences,puts forward certain reflections which could be beneficial to the author 's future interpreting career.This report consists of four chapters.Chapter 1 focuses on the content and the characteristics of the documentary.Chapter 2 is a brief introduction to the interpreting task.Chapter 3 highlights various methods and strategies when interpreting the documentary.The last chapter sums up a few questions and difficulties during the practice as well as the author's reflections.
