Task-based teaching is a kind of teaching approach which regards task as the core idea.Willis(1996)pointed out its teaching model theoretically.And then Ellis(2003)proposed the famous three-staged teaching model:pre-task,while-task and post-task based on large amount of previous researches which symbolize task-based teaching stepped into mature stage.From the end of the 20th century on,we have been studying and practicing this new teaching idea whether in teaching English as the foreign language or teaching Chinese as the second language.So,in order to teach Chinese to the speakers of other languages well,I would like to try to apply this teaching idea into Chinese teaching,especially in listening teaching.This paper will discuss the effective application of task-based teaching in listening part theoretically and practically.The experiment object of the study is the international students in Anhui University.This thesis is made up of six chapters.Chapter 1 presents the aim and significance of the thesis,makes a whole analysis of the teaching method and introduces the research ways and main thinking of this paper.Chapter 2 analyze the feasibility of task-based teaching in listening course.based on the characteristics of listening teaching and the theories and principals of the teaching method.Chapter3 elaborates the implementing process of task-based teaching on listening teaching and especially how to design task activities in the three stages.Chapter4 presents two teaching designs to show the concrete process.Chapter5 makes an investigation to the students and analyze the result of final exam under the implement of task-based teaching.Chapter6 puts forward considerations and vision of the task-based teaching approach in listening teaching.
