This report is based on the actual practice of translation The California State University Hotel Development and Operation Request for Qualifications.With the rapid development of global economic integration,the exchanges and cooperation between China and other countries are more common than ever before.Domestic enterprises are making full use of their technological advantages to participate in those international competitive bidding actively.Thus,the translation demands of the bidding documents and other related materials have also risen with this trend,and the requirements are getting even higher.The request for qualification from this report is a part of the bidding documents,the main part that author chose to translate is the technical specifications.This part of the content includes the prerequisites and precautions before the constructors start this project,the technical requirements should be followed during the construction process and the description of the relevant standards after the completion of this project.In this translation report,the author firstly introduces the background of the translation project and the significance of this research.Secondly,the author presents the relevant theoretical basis and the characteristics of the translation text together with a briefly description about the whole translation process.Then,under the guidance of the functionalist translation theory,the author analyzes the problems from three aspects: lexical,syntactic and textual level.In the end,the author made a conclusion about the problem and lessons learned during the translation process.
