| The construction industry has contributed a lot to China’s development.Its level of development reflects the economic trend.With the prosperity of construction industry and the trend of economic globalization,domestic construction industry has to enter the international business and seeks resource optimization.As a bridge connecting international cooperation of construction industry,the bids of construction are particularly significant.The accuracy and preciseness of translation directly affect the probability of winning bids and international cooperation.So understanding the characteristics of construction industry is the key to translate the text accurately.This paper adopts The Third Section of Shihezi No.61 Residential District Housing Project(Phase III)as the translation object.Translation contents include technical standards,requirements,the national,industrial and local norms,standards and procedures.Under guidance of the Hans Vermeer’s Skopos Theory of German Functionalism and combination with style of the bids,the practicality of this paper was introduced from aspects of words,sentences and whole text of the bids.Based on the Skopos rule,some words are translated using literal and conversion translation method,so that the language expression of the target language is more in line with the expression habits of target language.Complicated sentences are major difficulties in the process of the bids’ translation.To solve these difficulties,translator translates these imperative,passive,long and difficult sentences in the bids under the coherence rule.The long and difficult sentences are divided and reorganized by using translation techniques of literal translation,combination,division,inversion and other translation techniques to keep fluently intertextual coherence between sentences and sentences.Simultaneously,to keep the contents of the translation text similar to that of the original text,the translator adopts sequential translation technique to ensure that translation can effectively convey the form and information of the original text under the guidance of the fidelity rule.Under the guidance of Skopos Theory,the translator expects to summarize the characteristics and translation techniques of the bids’ translation and hopes it will provide the corresponding useful information and techniques for translators in the future. |
