Vocabulary is the cells of a language entirety and words-teaching is an important constituent part of Chinese class for teaching of Chinese as a second language.Affected by Chinese richness in ideogram and lack of change in category of gender,number and case,Chinese has versatility and flexibility in expression,word category has no corresponding relation with sentence element. Teaching of flexible application of words belong to the field of words teaching but it is different from the common teaching for common words.It is a grammatical phenomenon and also a rhetoric phenomenon.It is an unconventional means of Chinese language ,breaking grammatical rules to make temporary flexible combination with special words to express.Owing to its "out of regularity", Teaching of flexible application of words need Chinese teacher possess more synthetic teaching methods than the common words teaching.This thesis trace back to the course of flexible application of words in ancient Chinese and modern Chinese, study relative literature and combine it with the experience in teaching of flexible application to summarize the demand for teachers.There are some problems for teachers in teaching flexible application of words :First,giving insufficient attention to improve students' contextual cognitive ability. Second,giving insufficient attention to rhetoric value given by flexible application of words.Thirdly, giving shallow enlightenment on emotional implication.Lastly,ignorance on training students' language cognitive sensitivity and so forth.This thesis supplement four new different methods for flexible application of words:Morpheme analysis,comparative analysis,situation substitution and multimedia teaching.To verifying the suitability and flexibility of these methods by giving questionnaire to foreign friends who learn Chinese more than one year and making analysis of a teaching case.And the thesis aim to give a supplement to teaching methods about flexible application of words.
