Stereotype is a series of relatively fixed opinions, thoughts and expects towards certain groups.Gender stereotype refers to regular impression on different genders. However, little attention has been paid to the relationship between gender stereotype and counter-stereotype.In particular, the change of counter-stereotyped impression research is rather rare.Previous research regards gender counter-stereotype as the classification variable, consistent or inconsistent with gender stereotype. The purpose of this study is to explore the attribution mechanism behind stereotyped explanatory bias from the view of specific behavior in three-degree counter-stereotypes through operation of the frequency of behaviors,to explain the "climb-falling cliff"model of stereotype evaluation. The study was carried out in two steps.Study one extracts typical gender behaviors, evaluates their significance and compilation, and provides material for the follow-up SEB questionnaire.Study two explores the attribution mechanism of counter-stereotype behaviors in three degrees. The results are as follows:(1)Under all three different degrees, the subjects' interpretation of counter-stereotyped behaviors is significantly more than that of stereotyped ones;(2)people tend to attribute female stereotypes to external environmental factors, and female counter-stereotypes to personal internal factors, whereas male stereotyped behaviors are attributed to internal reasons, and male counter-stereotypes attributed to external environmental factors;(3)At a low level, people tend to make external attributions to women's stereotyped behaviors, and make internal attributions to male stereotyped behaviors. In a higher degree, people tend to make internal attributions to female anti-stereotyped behaviors and external attributions to male stereotyped behaviors;(4)With the increase of anti-stereotype degree, the anti-stereotyped behaviors of women gradually turn from external attribution to internal attribution, and those of male gradually turn from internal attribution to external attribution;(5)As the the degree of anti-stereotype behaviors increases, the external attribution first decreases and then ascends;(6)Under moderate anti-stereotyping,people tend to make more internal attributions to male stereotyped behaviors.
