Political Text Translation From Perspective Of Steiner's Hermeneutics Theory

Nowadays,with the rapid development of economic globalization,the political and cultural exchanges among countries have been gradually strengthened.More and more English political text has been translated into Chinese.However,translation in Political text is not in place.That's because there are many differences in the way of thinking and expression between English and Chinese,and also the original text contains rich cultural background information and other reasons.Thus,so far,the translator in political translation still needs to continue devoting their minds into political translation study.At this time,the election campaign in the United States has just ended.News of the presidential election has already spread all over the world,the presidential English speech is also in all places.The material I have chosen is from the New Yorker magazine,entitled President Trump's First Term as a letter.The original text has concise language with utilizing long sentences,rigorous style,and covers a wide range.If you want to make translated text reappear the soul of original text,and in line with Chinese language habits,all you can do is that be carefully analyzed special vocabulary,syntax,language style and other characteristics in the original text,then you can provide an appropriate translation method for each characteristic.In addition,this translation report is based on"fourfold translation motion" of Hermeneutics,combination with specific examples,we will see that how translation procedures goes.I hope that translated text obeys coherence rule,and its content is close to the original text,and the author's purpose has been achieved.This translation report is composed of five parts.The first part is that I briefly describe task description,including the source and content of translation text,its background and significance.The second part is about detailed translation process,including preparation,translation and proofreading.The third part generalizes support theory,which is about Hermeneutics theory.As the main part of this thesis,the fourth part is that according to specific examples of how to deal with the problems encounters in translation,including understanding of original content and application of Hermeneutics theory in translation.The last part is conclusion of this report,including pointing out the limitations of the translation,and some suggestions,which is beneficial to the learning and practice of political translation.The author does hope that this report will offer some help to political translation learners.
