Since China's accession to the WTO,Chinese economy has witnessed an unprecedented development and Chinese foreign trade has increased year by year, which makes all kinds of relevant legal documents play a more important role than ever before. Therefore, legal English translation study has become the mission of the modern times. In recent years, many famous legal translators have focused on the translation of prescribed laws and rules, litigation contracts and proceedings, instead of the translation of legal exposition texts.Based on this phenomenon, the author selects two legal exposition texts as the translation practice analysis material, with a view to enrich the research in this field. The static equivalence theory, proposed by Li Kexing-a professor in Hongkong University,is chosen as the guiding theory after comparing various translation theories. In this translation practice report, the case analysis method was adopted to analyze the representative examples in the process of translation and summarize the corresponding translation methods and techniques from the perspectives of vocabulary, sentences and chapters. The study found that the static equivalence theory can best guide the legal exposition texts translation. In addition,in the process of translation, the vague words should be translated vaguely to reflect the rigorousness and preciseness of legal language;for burdensome vocabulary, the translator should only translate its simple and common meaning;the passive sentence should retain its passive form to make the language more neutral and objective;the entire translation process should use the same vocabulary to express a certain legal word from the beginning to end.
