Contrastive Study On Chinese Tourism Teaching Material Of Thailand "Chinese Guide"," Thailand Guide-bangkok" And " Short Term Spoken Chinesetour Guide" For Example

In recent years,the number of Chinese tourists to Thailand has been increasing.This brings more and more attention in "Chinese class for tourism".During the class,teaching materials are needed.In Bangkok,Thailand,there are three such books published;"Chinese Guide","Short term spoken chinese-Tour Guide" and "Thailand Guide-Bangkok",which happen to have problems in the content.In order to offer suggestions on how to compose and analyze such teaching materials,we firstly surveyed teachers and students concerned in Chinese for tourism class in Bangkok by questionnaires.5 questionnaires from teachers and 84 from students were successfully filled.The questionnaires included repliers' basic information and opinions on the class and the material used.Afterwards,texts,vocabularies and practices etc.are carefully reviewed.Texts are reviewed on the degree of difficulty,tourist attractions,choice of content that exclude the tourist attractions,pictures and so on.The amount and scope of the vocabularies from three books are compared.Technical terms vocabularies are analyzed.Variations of practices are reviewed and analyzed pros and cons according to requirements we acquired from the survey.Based on the survey and material review,suggestions on composing materials are made on aspects of texts,vocabularies and practices.Temples are considered a must in such materials.They represent Thai people's respect to the King and Buddhism,explain the nation's characteristic as well as detailed culture.Temples themselves and their culture are very important for tourism,because Buddhism plays important roles on Thai's culture,attitude and daily lives.Learners consider Chinese characters are hard.Books have to pay a lot attention in it.They have to make sure often-used words are repeated properly.Learners have difficulty to understand certain characters and synonyms.Several words are usually misuse.Annotations offered on the material can help them understand the words formation,which help them to guess the meaning.According to analysis on how learners think about practices,they ought to include content about sightseeing which appears to be useful for them.Forms of practices also influence learners' learning habit and result.Based on the survey on learners and teachers,material analysis and suggestions on Chinese for tourism learning,this thesis has a certain reference value in guiding how to compose and use teaching materials for Chinese for tourism.
