ShanGe, which is also called Tongchiernong, is a folk-song collection compiled by Feng Menglong of the Ming Dynasty. Feng Menglong corpora, published by Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House in 1993, includes the block-printed edition of ShanGe printed in the Ming Dynasty between Tianqi and Chongzhen. This photocopy preserves the original appearance of the Ming Dynasty copy ShanGe. The research on folk-characters in it can broaden the research scope of ShanGe. Meanwhile, it will contribute to the study of the characters in Ming Dynasty copies by supplementing the research data of the characters in the Ming Dynasty. Besides, it can provide more abundant glyphs to large dictionaries.This paper mainly summarizes and analyzes the word types in the Ming Dynasty copy ShanGe and explains some folk-characters by consulting related dictionaries. In the meantime, their sources are discussed.This paper is divided into five chapters and one appendix. The main contents are as follows:In the first chapter, we explain the reasons for topic selection and clarify the current research status of Ming Dynasty copies and ShanGe.In the second chapter, we classify and describe the situation of the folk-characters in the Ming Dynasty copy ShanGe. We find that the folk-characters in the Ming Dynasty copy ShanGe can be divided into thr-ee types: stroke changing, radical changing and composite changing.Stroke changing can be further classified into five types: stroke increasing,stroke decreasing, stroke extending, stroke shortening and stroke connecting. Radical changing can be divided into three types: radical increasing, radical decreasing and radical shifting. Composite changing includes analogical composite changing and unanalogical composite changing.In the third chapter, we explain nine groups of folk-characters,including the relationship of Zu(?),Zu(?),Zu(?);the relationship of Jiu(?),Jiu(?),Jiu(?);the relationship of Yi(?),Yi(?);the relationship of Yao(?),Yao(?);the relationship of Nan(?),Nan(?);the relationship of Di(?),Di(?);the relationship of Li(?),Li((?));the relationship of Li(?),Li((?));the relationship of Ling(?),Ling(?).In the fourth chapter, we discuss the source of folk-characters in the Ming Dynasty copy ShanGe. We find that their sources are as follows:paleography, the change of official script, the regularization of cursive script.In the fifth chapter, we summarize the contents and point out the shortcomings.Besides, there is an appendix of the folk-characters in the Ming Dynasty copy ShanGe. We sort out the folk-characters to provide more data to the Study of the characters in ShanGe and the situation of folk-characters in the Ming Dynasty copies.
