Under certain conditions, people would judge a concept with particular attributes whereas they would not judge the subordinate concept with the same attributes. This phenomenon is known as the inverse conjunction fallacy. This paper attempts to explain this phenomenon from the unstable effect of conceptual category. This paper includes two studies,The first study to verify the inverse conjunction fallacy. And from the unstable effect of conceptual category the direct inspection. In the second study,By adding typical modifiers to verify the inverse conjunction fallacy from the unstable effect of conceptual category the indirect inspection. In the first study, using between subjects design and within subjects design,in the design between subjects,79 students of Anhui University do to a set of propositions about true or false judgment and asked them to choose the conceptual category in this set of propositions;within subjects design,let29 students during the time interval of 60 days,to do two types proposition concept of true or false judgment and selection Conceptual category,Investigate whether participants appear the inverse conjunction fallacy and the concept of proposition choose to have no difference, judging the inverse conjunction fallacy whether the concept of unstable effect. The results showed that: in the between subjects design things in addition when the proposition is not typical of modifiers, were given the correct judgment is obviously lower than that without modification of the proposition, participants will be the inverse conjunction fallacy, there are significant differences in concepts were tested on the typical modifiers of things the understanding and original things, was of the same category of things to understand that there are effects of instability, the participants with more understanding of the proposition in things as the ordinary concept category, the participants given proposition ofcorrect judgment;within subjects design and between subjects design results are roughly the same, just try to give the correct judgment of the difference of different types of proposition is not significant. In study 2,116 students of Anhui University participated in the experiment and experimental research program a consistent add typical modifier proposition in the original experimental materials, participants were asked to judge and choose three kinds of things is the core proposition of the general concept of special category or concept to do wrong without modification, and modification of typical words the word, atypical modifier proposition, the proposition is that participants things familiarity score. The results show that when the addition of concepts and propositions are typical modifiers, were given different proposition correct judgment and without modifier was not significant, did not appear to reverse the conjunction fallacy, concept of participants with typical modifiers of things and understand things there is no significant difference that is the concept category understand two propositions are roughly the same, and the participants with more understanding of the proposition in things as the ordinary concept category, try to give more correct judgment proposition. The results of the study are consistent with that of the study, compared with the proposition that the modifier is not modified. There were significant differences between the three types of propositions. The participants of the unvarnished words of things and familiarity with typical modifiers of things was significantly higher than that of non typical familiarity modifier proposition, three significant differences, but is familiar with the proposition of the participants did not affect the true or false.
