Analysis Of Confucius' S Cultural View

With a long and brilliant history,Chinese culture is highly praised by later generations,which cannot do without Confucius,the Chinese culture synthesizer.During the unrest of the Spring and Autumn period when the feudal princesses set up separatist regime by force of arms,Confucius regarded the cultural heritage as his own mission,inherited and developed the theories,traveling through all the kingdoms to spread and develop the culture.Today,China is committed to the inheritance and construction of traditional culture,and Confucius' s understanding and practice of traditional culture might provide reference for the cultural development and heritage.This paper,through an analysis of Confucius' s view of culture,reflects on the inheritance and construction of contemporary culture,especially on the construction of the socialist core value system.Confucius set up the craving attitude toward the wonderful ancient culture and inherited and developed the traditional culture through the method of making additions and deletions according to the actual needs.Besides,he actively played the subjective initiative,made himself an example and advocated the positive role of the Shi class in the cultural heritage.Based on the rites of Zhou,Confucius founded the benevolence system,fully emphasizing the consciousness and initiative of "self" as an individual in the cultural heritage.He consciously carried out the collation of ancient books,expounded and developed the ancient books and ideas.Through the re-creation of the content in ancient books and records like The Book of Songs,he clarified the importance of virtue for individuals and society and determined the value orientation of ethical moral culture in order to establish a society focusing on the ethical culture.Confucius' s conscious behavior of paying attention to the cultural heritage inspires the construction of modern socialist core value system.
