In recent years,Chinese energy industries are facing continuous opening up and improvement in science and technology.Under the guidance of ‘One Belt and One Road' policy and ‘Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation' strategy,Chinese electric power enterprises are actively helping Southeast Asian countries to conduct technical reforms in electric power and develop new generating capacities to meet local demand with advanced technologies and rich experiences in thermal power, hydropower, nuclear power, wind power and power transmission. As a consequence, the spring up of these overseas construction projects also leads to continuous need for interpreting talents both in technology and electric English. This report analyses an engineering interpreting project accomplished by the author of this report in Philippine CALACA 2×150MW CFB coal-fired power plant. From a perspective of an interpreter, this report analyses both difficulties and corresponding solutions in interpretation based on Hans J.Vermeer's Skopos Theory and Daniel Gile's Effort Models in Interpretation. The report is divided into five chapters, respectively introducing the project profile,pre-interpreting preparations, difficulties in the interpreting and the process of solving problems by adopting above-mentioned theories,as well as project evaluation and enlightenments for future work. |
