| The interpreting task in the interpreting report has been assigned by the Jinshi Group and includes the Thinking Twice While Moving Forward and New Deal in Dangerous Situation,the 11th and12th episode of the documentary The Rise of the Great Powers,which the school representatives and the corporate watched together.The translation object is the foreign school representatives,who are interested in the history of the rise of the powers.The report expresses the interpreter's realization of the importance of Skopos Theory through the analysis of the interpreting process.The aim of this thesis is to improve the interpreting capability and ability to handle the instant situation by summarizing and analyzing the defect and deficiency in the interpreting process.Translation cannot go on without the guidance of theory and the Skopos Theory as a fundamental translation theory is pretty important.So what we can do to combine the translation theory and practice becomes a significant problem.Skopos Theory is a dominant theory of functionalist theory in Germany and it consists of three rules:skopos rule,coherence rule and fidelity rule.According to the feature of the interpreting text and the guidance of the Skopos Theory,the author uses addition,omission,free translation and so on as the interpreting strategies.The report records the process of the whole interpreting in five parts,that is,the description of the interpreting task,the interpreting process,the analysis of interpreting cases,the summary of the interpreting and the conclusion.Emperor Taizong of Tang has ever said,“Take copper as a mirror,you can tidy up your clothes;take people as a mirror,you will know what you do is right or not;take history as a mirror,you can tell how the things rise and fall.”The meaning of the sentence has close relationship with The Rise of the Great Nations and also means a lot to us students who majore in interpreting. |
