By the relationship between China and Indonesia are getting firm,the culture exchange berween both countries also becomes more continually.It can be seen with there are so many chinese language classes opened in every institute in indonesia.But the given time and the materials,especially the using of hanzi only have short period of time in learning mandarin.This causes the students who learn mandarin are not skilled enough to develop their hanzi.According to the students,hanzi are more like drawings and they do not know where to begin to pull the strokes from.That is why,they must learn hanzi from the basic,like bihua,bishun,bujian,etc.Through the developing of the technology the teaching-learning of language becomes easier.This fast development of knowledge and technology nowadays,creates multimedia learning method.This multimedia technology gives big influence to communication and education.To make the teaching process more effective,teachers use multimedia in teaching-learning hanzi.The application of multimedia in teaching-learning hanzi more attractive to the students and increase their skill in learning hanzi.That is why this research discusses about teaching-learning hanzi using multimedia and not using multimedia in hasanuddin university confusiu institute.Inthis thesis,there are some chapters;chapter 1 introduction,mainly introduces the background,the significants of the topic,research,and method.And also the theoretical basis of the application of chinese characters teaching.Chapter 2 observation,teaching learning hanzi in hasanuddin university,confucius institute.Analyse the result of the observation,by comparing the marks from the experiment classes(the classes that use multimedia)and the control classes(classes that do not use multimedia)by giving hanzi skill tests to get the results.Chapter 3 the application of multimedia in teaching-learning hanzi.Explains the situation in hasanuddin university confucius institute classes that use multimedia and the classes that do not use multimedia.Chapter 4 effectivity,problems,and solution in using multimedia in teaching-learning hanzi,and the last chapter,chapter 5 is summary.The result of this research is the using of multimedia in teaching-learning hanzi is better than not using it.Although the differents from these two groups are not signified but the impact of using multimedia learning in experiment classes is good.
