The Zisi's Writings Study

Zisi concrete birth year is unknown, but it can be speculated that Zisi lives about ninety-two years old. He was born in Lu country, was a grandson of Confucius, and LuMu male teacher; he had Brother, a wife, and a son, and had been to Song and Wei country, and possibly been to Qi and Chu country , etc. He Mainly inherited Confucius ideological theory, and was likely to be teach by Confucius personally. He had a close relationship with Zengzi. Mencius also has a great connection with Zisi in thinking . Now we can see that there are only five articles possible write by Zisi , Shenyue had said that there are four articles should be belong to him . Include the unearthed "Five elements" ,we now can sure Zisi have five articles handed down from ancient times."The doctrine of the mean" is full of controversy , but some controversies are obviously the posterity far-fetched or misunderstanding. While the text have very distinctive features. First of all, in the context of the prose style and structure, it has relatively unified style. Secondly,for the context of the topic type and order, its theme appear messy, probably due to its former order lost .Finally, when contrast with the Analects of Confucius and the Book of Mencius, many of its statement are draw lessons from the Analects of Confucius, and they are the result of the abstraction of the Analects of Confucius. But "Mencius" is obviously inherit and develop from it in the later. So , it maybe not like some scholars claimed that it was out of the hand of the Qin and the Han dynasty people. And for the most part, it should be write between Confucius and Mencius. This also like we said it in the first chapter . Even so, we do not deny that it possibly change by the later people, but due to the lack of conclusive evidence, we can't accurate affirm it.When we compare the unearthed literature "Ziyi" and the handed down from ancient times edition of "Ziyi",we can find there are many differences in various aspects. In terms of the whole order, the difference is very bigger. The handed down from ancient times edition only have two chapters overlap with the unearthed literature "Ziyi". the other chapters are also very different too. When we contrast the handed down from ancient times edition of the fourth chapter and the sixth chapter with the unearthed literature corresponding part .We found that the unearthed literature's chapter points more reasonable than the handed down from ancient times one. After we analysis the themes of the two editions, we also found that for the order of the full text, the unearthed literature also post more reasonable . And even for the language sentence ways, the unearthed literature also more reasonable too. The unearthed literature's word are presented in little Chu style. While for there quotation style , the handed down from ancient times edition appears little more complicated. Of course, for the Ziyi, there are still some problems can't find the exact answer, such as the source of the chapter of first editions .After We are study the signs of "Biaoji" and "Fangji" in detail,the beginning of the chapter special forms, should play the role of a cause or summary.And after we are study the "Confucius said" part of the language characteristics in details ,we think that it is more reasonable to see the large number of "Confucius said" as Zisi's works .Furthermore, by taking the "Biaoji" and "Fangji" comparison with the "the doctrine of the mean" and "Ziyi", as well as according to the analyze of the "Biaoji" and "Fangji "of the genre, text and topic distribution of characteristics, we found that they are belong to the quotation style, and they also have the chaotic theme like "Ziyi", so we think their internal order is uncertain.The difference between the two versions of "five element" is very big . As the order of the concept of the five virtue , Bamboo slips edition of the order of five element have relatively consistent with Pre-qin literature and Han people .So here , Bamboo slips form perhaps closer than silk form to the original. And for the difference of the statement and chapter order, or in priority sectors, the bamboo slips style should be closer than the silk form to the original too. In terms of the two versions of the language to make a sentence,is relatively complex. They are each have numerous and simplified places, the silk form and the bamboo slips form both have lost part, but the lost of silk should be more. But in the specification and quotation of complete extent, silk texts complete than bamboo slips ,it also conforms to the situation of the development of literature reference. But overall,the bamboo slips form will more complete and reasonable than silk form.
