Zisi was Confucius' s grandson. His another name was Kong Ji, while people always called him "the Elucidator of High Attainments" . He lived in the Lu state in the early Warring States Period, and now no one knows his life very clearly. After researching on the existing viewpoints and the other documents, the author concluded that Zisi was born in BC 493 and died in BC 402. Zisi, who had been taught by Confucius in his youth, was the first inheritor of Confucius's mind. It's he who thoroughly inherited Confucius's theory so as to solve his period from the crisis, and had strictly stick to his mind to keep the independence. His mind had influenced both Mencius and the New Confucians of the Song and Ming dynasties, thus he had been respected by the following emperors. Many classical documents were destroyed in wars from the Qin-Han period to the Song-Yuan period, so was Zisi's Works. Today, there are two re-collected editions of Zisi Works, one by Wang Zhuo of the South Song Dynasty, the other by Huang Yizhou of the Qing Dynasty. Among them, Zhongyong, Biaoji, Fangji and Ziyi which were re-collected from Liji are theses really from the original Zisi's Works, so are those re-collected by Huang Yizhou. The bamboo slips of Guodian were thought to have close relationship with Zisi, and some words on the bamboo slips were sure to be those losing part of Zisi's works. After research on scripts and appearances of words on the bamboo slips, the author verified that, the 8 theses(i.e. Ziyi, Qiongdayishi, LU-Mu King Asks Zisi, Wuxing, Xingzimingchu, Chengzhiwenzhi, Liude, and Zundeyi) of the Confucians bamboo slips of Guodian, were come from the original Zisi's Works. With the above works, the author supplied an abstract for every chapter of Zisi' s Works together with its editions and main idea, so as to serve up a new edition to show an original Zisi' s Works.
