| The translation text—Torts—comes from West Nutshell Series and embodies typical features of legal texts,which,based on Peter Newmark's text typology,belongs to the informative text with an aim to truthfully transmit the information to the readers.During the whole translation process,not only the knowledge on relevant legal terms,regulations and cases,but also the translation strategies within a theoretical frame to tackle the difficulties brought by various long sentences,are necessarily required;and the present author therefore,guided by Newmark's principle of communicative translation,conducts legal texts translation by discussing long sentences' translation strategies. |
