This thesis is a report of the article titled as Internet use that reproduces educational inequalities: Evidence from big data.As an academic paper, its main language features are considered to be formal, objective and logic. The study indicated that the unequal Internet use may reproduce the existing educational inequalities,by using two big data analytic tools to examine the interest in and usage of two highly popular websites. The core of communicative translation theory attempts to produce on its readers an effect as close as possible to that obtained on the readers of the original, which is applicable to informative texts such as academic papers.Guided by this theory, the translator explores the translation strategies of academic papers on lexical and syntactic level.Specifically,on the lexical level, the translator adopts word conversion and amplification. In light of syntactic level, reverse translation and division are employed. This report summarizes translation difficulties and puts forward reasonable translation techniques in hope of making a bit of contributions to related translation in the future.
