Films co-produced by China and Korea together manifest unique values in the development history of films both at home and abroad for its exclusive forms of narration.The co-production has dropped the previous single pattern and undergone great evolution,thus displaying refreshing characteristics: multiple genres,deeper backstage cooperation and two versions for the same script.However,as trans-regional co-produced “hybrid” films,co-produced works' narrative structures and skills,along with their appreciation of the targeted audiences,embody both advantages and disadvantages in cross-cultural transmission practice.Based on the arrangement of the background of China & Korea film co-production,supplemented with film theories,this paper conducts a systematic review of the development of films co-produced by mainland China and Korea,approaching the subject from the internal narration of the films and the audience's acceptance by way of contents analysis,data analysis and case study.In this paper,by focuses on analyzing the themes,skills and structures of the films that have received both positive comments from the audiences and high box office,the author pierces into the co-produced films themselves and further explores the audience's viewing acceptance and the changes of their aesthetic characteristics in Asian culture.Having thoroughly reviewed the creation history of co-produced films and their themes and types,it is found that in most cases,co-produced films are categorized as native mainland China films,but China and Korea are facilitated with positive conditions to learn and convert the different cultural semiotic symbols and values embodied in co-produced films.Bearing in mind the key structural and systemic adjustments,both parties should reconsider the narration of co-produced films and the changes in audience acceptance of the products,and study China-Korea co-produced films through the work itself and the audience.Only in this way can we excavate the potential of China-Korea co-produced films as well as other co-produced works,herein exploit the works in the cross-cultural transmission of Chinese films,and eventually find the key to promote Chinese films to the world stage through in the process of co-producing films between China and Korea.
